Kids & Horses is a non-profit organization that serves children and adults with disabilities in Northern Nevada through the use of horses. Kids & Horses offers a variety of services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and adaptive riding lessons.
The center is Premier Accredited through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl).
Physical Therapy
Lead by a licensed physical therapist who targets skills such as balance, strength and coordination
Occupational Therapy
Focuses treatments on fine motor, gross motor and/or sensory integration skills
Adaptive Riding
Consists of weekly 30-minute horseback riding lessons tailored to students with special needs
CLS Classes
Classes where groups of teens and young adults work on learning important life skills.
Dementia Workshops
Opportunity for people with early-stage dementia and their care partners to connect with horses.
